Abstract

This article analyzes the second edition of the book “Philosophical Emanations of Love”. Its authors,
mostly well-known Russian philosophers, consider philosophical alliances and their relationship
to love, from the Middle Ages to the twentieth century; especially many works devoted to
the Silver Age. The humanitarian methodology and ways of reconstructing the personality of
the heroes of love unions, characteristic of the authors of the book, are being analyzed. From the
analysis of the articles, it can be concluded that the main participants in the discourse of the Silver
Age to one degree or another pushed of Plato’s concept, loading love with characteristics that
make it possible to realize love, primarily as a philosophical way of life that they profess. But
other philosophers interpreted love in terms of a shared and developed philosophical concept. In the
background – the realization of their personality. Practically all the heroes of the articles were
deeply religious people and, moreover, many of them as individuals shared an esoteric attitude, which had a significant impact on the philosophers of the 19th – early 20th centuries. This left a significant
imprint on their understanding of love and its practice. The beloved of our philosophers
are also considered, their division into two groups is proposed: so to speak, victims of philosophical
love and bright, talented women who loved, helped, shared the creative ideas of their beloved
philosophers.
