Abstract

The book, which is analyzed, is devoted to the “German” period of life and work of the remarkable
Russian philosopher S.L. Frank. Working with archives, the authors of the book re-create his philosophical biography bit by bit. Creativity of Frank is seen in the context of his difficult exis -
tence. Thus, the authors reconstruct the circumstances of writing by Frank “The Unknowable” and
other philosophical works. The reader of the book reflects on the connection between the work of
the philosopher and his life, the integrity of the existence of S.L. Frank. The book contains a lot of
unknown to this day documents from the archives, which are the reconstruction of the life of the
philosopher.
