Abstract

The paper presents the recent collection of essays on Soviet philosophical historiography entitled “Writing a universal history of philosophy: Soviet philosophical historiography in a comparative perspective”. The article guides the reader through the historical, philosophical and methodological debates of the Soviet era and beyond. The author presents a detailed panorama of various opinions and specific case studies proposed by well-known scholars, experts in the field of Russian thought (Daniela Steila, Evert van der Zweerde, Alyssa DeBlasio, Kåre Johan Mjør and others) and along with them reflects on the issues of the current historical and philosophical debate in Russia and on the continuity between Soviet and post-Soviet philosophical historiography.
